Dear C.S.A. Community,

Week 5 is here and we are nearing the end of spring veggies! Yay!!!! This week you will see a major change in your box. The farm has finally come to life. It happens every year it just comes at a different time each year. It depends on the weather, rain and a million other factors. This year is the earliest we have ever picked zucchini, summer squash, banana & jalapeño peppers. The farm is bursting with new growth. The farm grows numerous varieties of squash, & zucchini. If your looking at our item list and are wondering when you will receive a vegetable that you have not received yet, be patient we are only in week 5 and we always have gone at least 18 plus weeks. I have had a few ask about beets in particular and they will be in Week 6 or Week 7 boxes. All farms start their vegetables at different times and even plant their vegetables at different times, so not everyones vegetables are done or ripe at the same time. Many stagger start the veggies including our farm so we can have them in your box for longer periods of time then all at once.

Plant Health Update:

Summer crops and pumpkins look exceptional

Low disease rates on farm

Low pressure from the bugs as well

This year could turn out to be the best pepper, zucchini, & summer squash year the farm has ever had. Everything is just growing exceptionally well with loads of vegetables,  you will start to see in your boxes. I have never seen plants with so many veggies on them. We are co-hosting a Hog Roast at the farm with Lion Bridge Brewing, if your interested the information is available on Facebook and tickets must be purchased in advance on Eventbrite. Remember if you need herbs or any extras or more eggs you can always come to the farm. We are open Tuesday-Sunday 10a-6p. We will always do our best to get you what you need. The purple basil is doing exceptional too!

Friendly reminder, all C.S.A. information is in 4 places each week. You can access the information on Facebook, our website, twitter, & your email box. Almost all questions can be answered by reading the F.A.Q. on our website. The password for the blog again is ‘community’
